How We Wore it // Holiday Plaid

Okay so we are clearly taking a detour from my normal blog content here- I am so not a style blogger. BUT my sweet friend and fellow baseball wife Deidre is. And she convinced me to join her in participating in a monthly link-up called "How We Wore it" hosted by Brooke at The Silver Lining blog. And here we are ;)

So here's what it is- Once a month, Brooke sends out a style inspiration photo to a group of bloggers. Each gal has to create an outfit inspired by the photo, but only using items she already has in her closet. It doesn't have to be an exact duplicate of the inspiration photo, and that's what makes it fun- seeing how so many different women create different outfits based on one inspiration!

Since I keep my wardrobe pretty minimal (with all the packing and traveling we do, it's just easier to have less stuff!) I thought this would be a great way to get creative and figure out different ways to mix and match what I already have. It also gave me an excuse to dress up a tiny bit, even if just for pictures ;)

This month were given this photo from one of my favorite bloggers, Shanna from Because Shanna Said So. Shanna is always so cute and just a great all around person, so I was really excited to be drawing style inspo from her!

I really loved the black, plaid, and fur aspects of Shanna's outfit. I grabbed my go-to black swing dress, black ankle booties, furry vest, and a plaid shirt. I actually initially planned to wear the shirt under the vest, but it just didn't look right. So it ended up just being an accessory, ha!

Also, big thanks to Cy for taking pictures of me, what a guy ;) And forgive my low quality iPhone pictures too. Aint nothing fancy around here!

I really enjoyed getting to be a part of this link up, hopefully y'all enjoyed seeing it! Make sure to visit the other blogs, linked below, to see the other various ways this outfit was re-styled. If you want to participate next month, sign up at the bottom of Brooke's post!

Thanks for stopping by today!
kiss kiss, Han

  10. I lack a fancy camera so my pictures are from my phone as well. No biggie. I love those booties. I'm not a heel girl and it seems like most booties have quite the heel. Where did you get them?!
